The Piano Salon

Yasuko Oshikawa-Baydoun was born in 1959 in Yokohama, Japan. She studied piano at the Tokyo University of the Arts and at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg, where she graduated with distinction in the Concert Exam program.

From 1984 to 2025, Mrs. Oshikawa-Baydoun worked as a full-time piano teacher at the Hamburg Youth Music School. There, she taught children and adolescents aged five to twenty-one, inspiring their joy in piano playing—from classical repertoire to pop and film music. In addition, she worked as a freelance piano instructor and accompanist at various music universities, including in Hamburg and Rostock, where she coached piano majors as well as students of other instrumental disciplines.

Alongside her pedagogical work, Mrs. Oshikawa-Baydoun is deeply committed to performance. Since 2001, she has been a member of the Philharmonic Trio and performs regularly at chamber music evenings, in churches, community settings, and senior residences. She is also a sought-after accompanist at national and international music competitions.

With her extensive experience, musical versatility, and passion for teaching, she guides people of all ages—from young children to older adults—on their musical path. She places great value on individual support and on nurturing and developing each person’s love for music.

Mrs. Oshikawa-Baydoun speaks German and Japanese fluently. Her artistic focus lies in classical music, yet her teaching is marked by openness and enthusiasm for a wide variety of musical styles.
